Water is the driving force of all nature.
- Leonardo da Vinci
Water is vital for life and as our population booms, the demand for this resource becomes even greater.
Viva Sanitary, a leading manufacturer and supplier of sanitary fittings, are committed to ecology. We have adapted one of our core products, the Skylo height adjustable syphon, to make it more environmentally friendly, and to reduce our customers’ water bills.
In August 2013, Owen Paterson, the Environment Secretary, warned that some families could see their water bills double. This followed warnings from the government’s environment specialists that climate change and England’s growing population will put the future supply of water in reservoirs and rivers under “serious stress”. Householders are already suffering from higher water bills, especially in parts of the country that are at risk of drought. In some parts of southern England where meters are fitted, annual bills have increased by hundreds of pounds.
Ministers have ordered nine of the 24 regional water companies in England and Wales to consider compulsory metering in all the homes they serve.

The new Skylo dual flush height adjustable Syphon with dual flush technology has changed the way our conventional syphon works. Instead of having one flush mode, you can now choose between a full flush (solid waste) or half flush (liquid waste). For more information on the benefits of installing dual flush, see our article - What is Dual Flush?
This will keep water usage per flush to a minimum, which in turn will lower household water usage, potentially saving hundreds of pounds a year on a consumer’s annual water bill.
It’s another positive step forward in the Viva product range, and demonstrates our commitment to environmental responsibility.
